The 3-day Queen Elizabeth National Park safari will take you to one of Uganda’s most frequented national parks, Queen Elizabeth National Park, in the western region of Uganda in Kasese district. Queen Elizabeth National Park which encompasses an area of 1,978 square kilometers is the second largest National Park in Uganda. The Park has a variety of ecosystems, including dazzling lakes, the Kazinga channel, huge grasslands, humid woods, and lush marshes.

The park is home to over 96 mammal species and more than 612 bird species: on your 3-day Queen Elizabeth National Park safari, expect to witness large numbers of antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, and buffaloes, among others, on game drives and boat cruises along the Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel is a wide channel that flows through the park and connects the two great lakes; Edward and George.

More so, Queen Elizabeth is the home to the famous tree-climbing lions which can be spotted in the Ishasha southern sector of the park. Still, in Queen Elizabeth, chimpanzees and other smaller primates can be found in the Kyambura Gorge: and different bird species and monkeys in the park’s Maramagambo woodland.

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today after breakfast at your Kampala hotel, you will be picked up by your guide, who will brief you on your 3-day safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park, before you embark on the 6-hour journey to the Park. Along the way, you will stop at the Equator to take photos and in Mbarara town for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center.
Then drive to the park through the stunning terrain of wide grasslands, Ankole long-horned cattle, tea plantations, the Rift Valley Escarpment, and diverse forests. Arrive in the park in the late afternoon and enjoy a brief game drive to your booked lodge. Overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 2: Morning Game drive & Afternoon boat cruise

Begin your day with a great cup of coffee or tea before embarking on an early morning game drive around the park's several trails, particularly the Kasenyi route. Via this trail, there is a good chance of spotting several antelopes including bushbucks, water bucks, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, warthogs, and numerous birds along the Kasenyi trail. The game drive will last about 4 hours, after which, you will return to your lodge for breakfast and later lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a 2-hour boat safari along the Kazinga channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. While on the boat, you will spot a variety of animals, including hippos, Nile crocodiles, and monitor lizards. You will also see several buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, and kobs refreshed by the channel shores. In addition, enjoy the numerous sights of bird species including malachite kingfishers and pink-backed pelicans, on the banks and in trees. return to your lodge after and relax. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala

With the fantastic reminiscences of the previous two days, you will have a relaxed and delicious breakfast. Then check out of the lodge and if you have time, go on a primate walk in the park. Enjoy your lunch along the road and continue to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at your hotel in the evening. This marks the conclusion of our 3-day Queen Elizabeth National Park safari.
