3 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife Expedition
The 3-Day Murchison Falls Wildlife expedition is the shortest Uganda safari for seeing numerous savanna species and wildlife in Uganda. The Uganda safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s most popular savannah park. Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest park and a popular site for wildlife and big game viewing safaris. It is located in North-western Uganda and covers over 3,480 square kilometers of diverse habitats including forest, grassland, riverine woodland, borassus palms, acacia savanna, river, and wetland. The park protects a diverse range of animals, including 76 animal species and over 451 bird species.
Murchison Falls National Park gets its name from the magnificent Murchison Falls found on the Victoria Nile, which cuts and flows through the Park. Given their magnificent turbulence, Murchison falls are regarded as the most powerful waterfalls on the globe. The falls also are the focal point of the park, offering a striking picture of the Nile, as it squeezes through a narrow cleft of about 7 meters between rocks and explodes into the pool about 45 meters below. The river seems serene and mirror-like in the background, before the depression. However, after a few meters, the water begins to turbulence and transforms into the spectacular Murchison Falls.
This 3-day Murchison Falls wildlife expedition includes game drives in the savannah grassland and a boat safari on the Nile, both of which will expose you to a variety of animals: among them include lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, hyenas, monkeys, Uganda kobs, elands, numerous birds, and breathtaking scenery. A visit to the world’s strongest waterfalls, where the sight and sound of the Nile smashing down a huge abyss give memorable and inherent realities that only those who encounter them can access, will be the highlight of this expedition. The Victoria Nile, which divides the park in two, provides dales of hippos and busk ranges of crocodiles along the sandbanks, as well as enormous numbers of other species drinking and bathing.
Still, on your 3-day Murchison Falls wildlife expedition, you will be trekking rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route to Murchison Falls. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where tourists can visit rhinos.
