This 2-day Lake Mburo Wildlife tour brings you to Uganda’s most popular game area for viewing wild zebras. Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest savannah park, but it is the best place to see zebras and impalas in Uganda. Lake Mburo is the closest national park to Kampala and is located off the Kampala-Mbarara Highway. The Park is located in western Uganda about 235 kilometers by road from Kampala. In Lake Mburo, you will get to see many animals, especially the big herds of zebras the park is famous for, impalas, giraffes, elephants, and buffaloes among others.
On your 2-day Lake Mburo wildlife tour, your journey will begin in Kampala and will take you west to Lake Mburo through Masaka. You will make a quick stop at the equator for photography and grab some roadside snacks. We’ll arrive at Lake Mburo National Park in the late afternoon, just in time for lunch. That evening, we’ll embark on the park’s first activity – a boat cruise on Lake Mburo to witness the many wildlife and bird species.
Before saying your goodbyes and returning to Kampala in the afternoon, you will go on a morning game drive in Lake Mburo. Our 2-day Lake Mburo wildlife excursion is ideal for a fast weekend escape where you can experience the animals and return relaxed to begin the work week.

Day 1: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast at your Kampala hotel, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. But before that, your guide will brief you on the 2-day tour in Lake Mburo. Drive to the western region of Uganda, passing through towns and local markets. Make a stopover at the Equator for photography before proceeding with your journey to Lake Mburo. Make another stopover at Lukaya Market to grab some of the best roadside roasted chicken, gonja (plantain), and goat meat. Here you will also get a chance to get out of the car, walk to the roasting stoves, and experience how these foods are prepared and roasted. When you arrive at the park, drive to your booked lodge and check in before having lunch which will entail a delicious local buffet.
In the late afternoon, you will have a boat ride along the lake, where you will have the opportunity to see various species such as crocodiles, hippos, topis, and birds such as fish eagles, and kingfishers among others. Return to the lodge after dinner. Overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 2: Morning Game drive & Transfer back to Kampala
Start your day with an early breakfast and a three-hour game drive across the park. the game drive will provide you with a fantastic view of the savannah and the five lakes. You will also enjoy visas of buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, topis, elephants, leopards, and hippos, as well as many bird species creating beautiful sounds in the acacia trees and along the lake. After the game drive, check out of your lodge and travel to Kampala, stopping in Masaka for lunch and at the Equator for photos before arriving in the late afternoon.
