With so many activities done in Mgahinga National park, gorilla tracking ranks the number one activity since most of the tourist move from their home countries only to see these species. Mgahinga National Park is located in the Southwestern corner of Uganda with an area of 33.7sq. Km and is the best place to trace the Nyakagezi Gorilla group that keeps on moving towards the Congo forest and Rwanda.
Always gorilla tracking activity starts from Ntebeko gates in the dawn with a great overview of area walking up to the view point as we crowd to get a momentarily talk on how to enter the bush. This activity in this park takes for about 2-5 hours and when you see these endangered apes you are allowed to spend only 1 hour for conservation purposes, to always remember that incident, you can take photos but without flashes and sounds because it destructs gorillas and videos that will stay for the life time that you was once in Uganda and this is all done with a company of a park ranger. After you will return to the park headquarters to receive your certificates for having tracked a gorillas in Mgahinga National Park in Uganda.
WHEN TO VISIT?
In Uganda these rare endangered species can be visited at any time but the best time is during the dry season since it is easily accessible free from muddy June to September then December to February.
ACCESSIBILITY?
Mgahinga National Park is accessible both by road and by air. On road it’s from Kampala via Kabale to Kisoro.
